Grade 7/8 – Integers

We started a new topic today. The new topic is Integers.
Your assignment is to make a title page for the new topic.
You must include in your title page:
1) the title “Integers”
2) a defintion of what integers are
3) examples of integers
4) 3 or 4 graphics relating to math/intergers.
This assignment will be worth 5 marks.

Order Of Operations

When you are solving an equation with multipul operations, there is a specific order you must follow in order to get the correct answer. I have posted the notes and the assignment that we covered on Monday.

Friday – Volleyball Championships

Same Numbers…Different Form

Today we reviewed 6 different ways that a number can be written.
We will be practicing ordering decimals next class.

Ordering Numbers

December 6th, 2007

Today we discussed how to order numbers with decimals. Be sure to rewrite the numbers with all of the decimal points lined up; then you can add the correct amount of zero’s so you will have all the numbers with the same number of decimal places.

Snow Day

December 4th, 2007

Today the busses were not running, but school was still happening. I allowed time today to work on the Photoshop assignment that was assigned while Mr. Densen was here. Step 1 – go on to E-Pearl and write the description and criteria for the assignment. Step 2 – fill in your strategies of how you are going to complete the assignment. Step 3 -  work on the assignment. Step 4 is import it into E-Pearl portfolio and write about the different effects you used.
      I have attached the assignment if you missed it on Tuesday.

Photoshop Assignment #1
Folder: Personal
Date: November 22, 2007

Description:
Create an image in Photoshop using the tools, filters, and effects you learned this week. Save the file as a Photoshop Document (.psd) and as a JPEG (.jpg)

Criteria:
The image must be 800px by 600px and have at least 4 – 5 layers one of which is a text layer and one layer to be the background. Included will be a write up that explains the tools and effects used and a brief example referencing the picture.
